The whereabouts of Kate Middleton has been gripping the internet for weeks, and the Photoshop fiasco has only upped the chatter even more. Countless theories and conspiracies are floating around the internet, including one TikToker who believes the photo in question was taken in November 2023, on the same day the family launched the Christmas Baby Banks initiative.
Before this week, Kate Middleton was last seen officially in public on Christmas Day. In January, the Palace announced she had been admitted to hospital for ‘planned abdominal surgery’ and would be refraining from royal duties until at least Easter. The first ‘official photo’ of the Princess of Wales was posted on Mother’s Day, which was issued a ‘kill notice’ due to manipulation. Kate then issued an apology online for the editing, and the internet has now gone wild with their speculations.

Fans suspect Kate Middleton’s edited pic was taken in November – four months ago
One of the many theories floating around social media is that the pic of the Princess and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis was taken after their public outing to a ‘Baby Bank’ during the Christmas period.
The video of the family’s charitable Christmas visit was posted to their official YouTube channel, and one social media user has spotted some eerily similarities with their outfits from the day.
Kate was wearing a white turtleneck to the Baby Bank, which she thinks was photoshopped to be darker, to avoid anyone noticing it was the same outfit. The Princess is also wearing the same boots from that day.
The creator of the video also claims Princess Charlotte was wearing a jumper with the exact same neckline she was wearing to the Bank underneath another jumper in the picture. Again, the eight-year-old is wearing the exact same shoes as the Christmas outing.
As for George, he’s also wearing a similar sweater with a checked collar, as the creator thinks they pattern has been edited to be blue, to make it less noticeable.
However, these are strictly the opinion of one TikTok user, and nothing is stated as fact.
The Princess admitted to Photoshop via a tweet which read: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
Nothing else has been said on the matter.
The photo was ‘taken last week’ source says
As theories and conspiracies take over the internet, it has now been reported the image was taken on Friday.
“The photograph was taken on Friday, in a 40-minute window, so several photographs, were taken, then the Princess photoshopped it into one image and sent it to the Palace office,” royal correspondent Cameron Walker told GB News, relaying previous sources.
However, host Bev Turner questions whether the photo was actually taken last week, due to the trees in the background “making it look like it’s much more summery.”
Kensington Palace has not confirmed it’ll be releasing the unedited photo, and has not responded to the theories of the picture saga, as well as royal rumors.
